Dock Float Installation Guide
Manufacturer-grounded guidance for planning, mounting and verifying a long-lasting floating dock installation.
01 — Before you begin
Plan first. Install second.
Read the manufacturer documentation for the exact float before starting. Confirm dock framing, load assumptions, water conditions, local permitting requirements and the compatible hardware for your construction method.
02 — Required hardware
Mounting hardware is not included.
Dr. Docks should never imply a float includes bolts, lag screws, washers, brackets, U-bolts or other fasteners unless the exact manufacturer listing says so. Taylor Made dock floats can use integrated mounting flanges, while required fasteners are product/application dependent.

03 — Float positioning & layout
Design around load and structure.
The final quantity and spacing should be based on verified flotation capacity, dock weight, live load, framing geometry, safety margin and environmental conditions—not a generic spacing rule copied across every project.

Use the integrated flanges correctly.
Position the float beneath the framing, align the mounting flange with the structural member, and install only the manufacturer-approved or engineering-approved fastener system for the application. Floats should not be represented as attaching directly to each other unless the exact product system supports it.
05 — Final checks
Verify before launch.
Confirm hardware engagement, frame alignment, clearances, flotation balance and manufacturer warranty requirements. For engineered or commercial systems, final design and installation should be reviewed by the appropriate qualified professional.
